Prof. Dr. M. Levent Emir

About Me

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Levent Emir is an experienced urologist based in Ankara, Türkiye. After graduating from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1989, he served as a medical officer and second lieutenant at Ağrı Military Hospital between 1995 and 1997.

From 1997 to 2012, he worked at the Department of Urology at Ankara Training and Research Hospital, serving as an attending specialist and deputy department chief. He was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2004. During the same period, between 1997 and 2007, he also worked part-time at City Hospital IVF Center, where he focused particularly on male infertility and assisted reproductive techniques.

In 2012, he was appointed Professor and Head of the Department of Urology at Ahi Evran University Faculty of Medicine. During the establishment of Ahi Evran University Faculty of Medicine, he also served as Deputy Dean.

Prof. Dr. M. Levent Emir has extensive surgical experience in the field of urology. To date, he has performed more than 500 radical prostatectomies, more than 100 radical cystectomies with ileal loop and continent urinary diversions, as well as more than 200 radical nephrectomies and nephroureterectomies. With more than 20 years of experience particularly in urethral stricture surgery, Prof. Dr. Emir successfully performs advanced reconstructive surgical techniques, including urethroplasty using buccal mucosal grafts.

His areas of clinical interest include male infertility, uro-oncology, urethral strictures, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and the surgical treatment of kidney and urinary tract stones. With extensive knowledge and experience particularly in urethral stricture surgery and uro-oncology, Prof. Dr. Emir has authored numerous academic studies and scientific publications in national and international medical journals.

Prof. Dr. M. Levent Emir currently serves as Head of the Department of Urology at Ahi Evran University Faculty of Medicine and is fluent in English. He is also an active member of several national and international scientific organizations, including the Turkish Urological Association, the Urooncology Association, and the International Continence Society (ICS).

Prof. Dr. M. Levent Emir provides comprehensive urological diagnostic, follow-up, and treatment services at his private clinic located at Mefa Plaza, Mustafa Kemal Mahallesi, 2148. Sokak, No: 1/13, 3rd Floor, 06460 Çankaya, Ankara, Türkiye. In addition, he sees patients part-time at Nova Art IVF Center.

He has particular expertise in male infertility, azoospermia, varicocele, and microTESE, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions affecting male reproductive health and urological health. He provides individualized evaluation and treatment approaches based on each patient's specific needs, offering comprehensive care throughout the diagnostic and treatment process.

At our clinic, complete blood counts, biochemistry tests, and other essential laboratory examinations are performed using state-of-the-art equipment. My Special Interests and Experiences

Urethral Strictures: The Urology Clinic at Ankara Training and Research Hospital, where I worked for 21 years, is recognized as a center of excellence in Turkey for urethral strictures. During this time, I performed numerous urethral stricture surgeries including end-to-end anastomosis, pull-through (Badenov),and pedicled flap procedures. I continued these surgeries at Ahi Evran University Training and Research Hospital, where grafting tissue taken from inside the mouth onto the urinary tract has become a significant part of my surgical practice.

Urooncology: I have extensive experience in urooncology, having performed over 500 radical prostatectomies for localized prostate cancer, more than 100 cystectomies with ileal loop continent diversion for muscle-invasive bladder cancer, and over 200 radical nephrectomies and nephroureterectomies for kidney tumors. Additionally, I have carried out around 1,000 transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) procedures for superficial bladder tumors using endoscopic methods.

Infertility Treatments: At the City Hospital IVF Center (now closed),where I worked for 10 years, I evaluated and treated a large number of infertile patients, performing various sperm retrieval operations such as TESE, Micro-TESE, and PESA.

I also have extensive experience in kidney and urinary tract stone surgeries, as well as in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
